2023 is the 17th mainline series of Mattel Disney Pixar Cars vehicle toys. This series is the second to use the red-hued desert and stadium art motifs, with the overall cardback design closely resembling the prior 2022 series. There is a Cars on the Road theming for relevant vehicles

The line continued categorizing characters based on source material of origin; in addition to bringing back 2022's Cars, Cars 2, Cars 3, and Cars on the Road segments, 2023 added 6 models based on Cars Toon Mater's Tall Tales (all from Tokyo Mater) as well as a limited "Disney 100" collection, to tie in with the parent company's 100-year anniversary and wider merchandising series.

Trivia

• Due to the deluxe line being cancelled, characters like Red, Ivy and Chieftess are now featured in 2-packs or multipacks.
• This is the first time that Misti Motorkrass, Johnny Blamer, J. Shoesteer, Patty, Dragon Lightning McQueen , Drift Party Mater, Ito-San, Finn McMissile, Patokaa, Tubbs Pacer, Vladimir Trunkov, Mark Wheelsen, and Miles Axlerod with Open Hood have been released from Thailand.
  • Patty's name has finally been corrected after every previous release spelling her name as "Patti".
  • Kabuto is not marked as Kabuto with Flames despite having flames.
  • Tubbs Pacer's name has been shortened to just his first name for unknown reasons.
  • Miles Axlerod with Open Hood is the second Chase car to be re-released, with the first one being Lee Racé in 2022
