- "I will never understand why you gravel crunchers want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane."
- —Cabbie, Planes: Fire & Rescue
"Cabbie" McHale is an ex-military transport that appears in Planes: Fire & Rescue.
He appears to be modeled after a Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar.
Bios[]
- A jolly old ex-military transport plane, Cabbie used to drop airborne utility vehicles behind enemy lines in Korea. Now he drops Smokejumpers at Piston Peak—it’s a lot like combat, but nobody’s shootin’ at him. With a payload of 10,000 pounds and a maximum takeoff weight of 74,000 pounds—Cabbie can carry the smokejumpers up to 2,000 miles away.
Livery[]
Cabbie is painted primarily black and grey, with red detailing. Similar to Blade Ranger, Lil' Dipper, and Windlifter, he sports the Piston Peak Air Attack logo on the right side of his fuselage and have his nose cowling painted black. Cabbie also shares the visual motifs of three white stripes (on both of his twin-boom) and chevron patterns (on the top side of his fuselage) with his fellow firefighting aircraft. Faded marks of "US Air Force" can be seen on both sides of his fuselage, his tail number painted across his twin-boom, and his call sign number 51 is painted on his tail fin while the underside of his wing displays his call sign "PPF 51". His role in the Air Attack team is to transport the Smokejumpers team as ground support.
