Cars: Lightning League was a mobile racing video game that was released on iOS and Android on June 15, 2017, featuring characters from the Disney/Pixar film Cars 3. This app was used to promote Cars 3.
Gameplay[]
In Cars: Lightning League, players race and complete certain objectives in different levels, such as collecting boosts or smashing crates under a time limit. Players also race against certain opponents, which requires precise timing in order to get ahead and win. Each level has three stars the player can achieve, depending on how well they complete the level. As players complete levels, they earn coins, gems, and blueprints to either level up their characters or unlock new ones.
The player can level up their car by using coins to increase their top speed, acceleration, and special ability depending on what car they play as. They can also use gems to buy more coins or unlock characters immediately for 50 gems each. Gems, in turn, can also be acquired through in-app purchases.
There is also a limit regarding how much players can play the game through a fuel system. As a player plays each level, they lose a certain amount of fuel that they can regain by either waiting a certain amount of time, or by spending gems to maximize it immediately.

There are a total of 10 playable characters in the game so far. The player must collect blueprints by completing levels in order to unlock characters (there are 4 blueprints to unlock for each character).
