The PSP version of Cars: The Videogame tells a different story in which Lightning McQueen challenges Boost, Wingo, DJ, and Snot Rod to a series of races in which they would have to leave Radiator Springs if he wins. The game's final race is against Chick Hicks and The Tuners on a speedway built on Carburetor County.

Besides telling a different story, there are other differences between the console versions and the PC version:

  • All of the characters introduced in the console versions, as well as some of the characters from the film, such as The King, Darrell Cartrip, Mia, Tia and the other Piston Cup Racers are completely absent. On the contrary, Red appears on the PSP version and not on the console versions.
  • Exploration mode, The Backwards ability and Bonus Points are not featured.
  • Luigi, Fillmore, Sarge, Lizzie, DJ, Boost, and Snot Rod are playable characters.
    • Doc's alternative paint job as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet appears as a separate character.
  • Turbo is unlocked from the beginning, unlike in the console versions where it has to be unlocked though out the course of the Story Mode.
  • Each character has the same amount of paint jobs.

Cheat codes[]

Unlimited Turbo[]

While playing in any singleplayer race, pause the game. While paused, hold the "L" button while entering the code:

Square, Triangle, Circle, Square, Triangle, Circle.

Unlock Everything[]

While on the main menu, hold the "L" button and enter the code:

Triangle, Square, X, Circle, Triangle, X, Square, Triangle, Circle, X.

Unlock Bonus Speedway Reversed Track[]

While on the main menu, hold the "L" button and enter the code:

X, Square, Triangle, X, Triangle, Square.
