DisneyToon Studios was an animation studio that was a division of The Walt Disney Company. It had produced the spin-off films Planes and Planes: Fire & Rescue in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Carlos Alazraqui (the voice of El Chupacabra) had confirmed in March 2013 that the Planes series would be a trilogy, and a film about the future of aviation in outer space was in development with a planned release date on April 12, 2019. However, the film was suddenly removed from the schedule release on March 1, 2018 and DisneyToon Studios was immediately closed down on June 28, 2018, thus putting the movie out of development.[1]
