Ghosting Mater is a minigame in Cars: Mater-National Championship, as well as the Xbox 360 and Wii versions of Cars: The Videogame.
Gameplay[]
Ghosting Mater centers around Mater making his way home while thinking the Ghostlight is in pursuit of him, which, in reality, is a lantern that Sheriff placed onto him, similar to what happens in Mater and the Ghostlight.
In order for Mater to return home, he must maintain speed by driving through the various scare points that are on the path. The controls in this game are inverted, so attempting to turn right will make Mater go left, while attempting to turn left will result in Mater turning right. Though not all scare points are necessary, the player should attempt to drive through as many as possible. However, if Mater comes to a complete stop before reaching his home, the game will be lost, and the level must be restarted.
Mater is the only character that can be played as in this event. There are seven levels in Cars: Mater-National Championship, while only the second level is available in Cars: The Videogame.
