HtB
"You won't dare leave your garage without us."
Slogan, HTB

Hostile Takeover Bank (abbreviation HTB, or htB) is a banking company for hostile acquisitions, Past to make money by cheating all the time. It primarily competes with Dinoco during races and also competes with Rusteze in races which is now merged with Dinoco. HTB seems to allow cheating on purpose or may even encourage it on their racers as Chick Hicks was known to cheat. It’s also possible they have bribed racing officials as Chick Hicks had been allowed to keep racing and even keep his sole Piston Cup despite having blatantly cheated in his races without even trying to hide it, Seems to be making money by cheating. Hence the name, Hostile Takeover.

The HTB pit crew (and possibly the rest of the staff) is shown to be unpleasent, naughty, rude and uncaring to others, not even showing any signs of remorse breaking the law or their bad actions. They seem to enjoy chaos as they laugh in a somewhat evil manner when Chick Hicks succeeds in something.

Sport[]

The company sponsored Chick Hicks on Piston Cup Racing Series that won the championship in the 2005 season. However, their victory wasn’t what they expected as Chick Hicks was booed by an angered mob of media and fans who were upset with his poor sportsmanship. Rowdy Revvin' Busch is a Next-Gen racer, and he's also a HTB racer.

Trivia[]

  • After Chick retired, it's unknown if HtB still sponsored any racer after that.
    • Maybe the HtB boss (though the identity of the latter is unknown) only wants to make money, so they don't seem to care much about Chick Hicks' racing behavior and manner, so other cars are likely to suspect that they seem to be making money by cheating, so they may not dare to return to the Piston Cup again.
    • It's also unknown why the company was allowed in the Piston Cup since they let their racer cause alot of of trouble, such as a crashing spree, purposely causing a gigantic crash and bumping into other racers and more possible countless things. In reality, the team would very easily be banned from the race for their said actions and would be fined for their damages as according to NASCAR rules, the PIT maneuver, aggressive driving, and intentionally crashing cars results in penalties - points deductions, fines, and even being suspended for a handful of races. However, Pixar chose to break this rule for the Piston Cup, because if they didn't, there would be no antagonist. This simply implies that the race officials allowed Chick (or any other bad racer) to play dirty just because he's one of the racers in contention of winning the Piston Cup (though it is also possible that they are bribed by HtB themselves to not to punish Chick Hicks) and beating The King at his own game until the last moment when he performed an illegal PIT maneuver on Strip, causing him to spin out of control and tumble onto the infield, receiving heavy damage in the process. It's also unclear why they including Chick, weren't in trouble with the Police either.
    • But, in 2022, Mattel released a diecast of a next-gen HtB racer named Rowdy Revvin' Busch, but whether he is canon to Cars is currently unknown.
  • Hostile Takeover Bank, Dale Earnhardt Inc., Shifty Drug, Fiber Fuel, Sidewall Shine, Retread, Tach-O-Mint are the only sponsors absent from Cars 3.
    • But Hostile Takeover Bank, Shifty Drug, Fiber Fuel, Sidewall Shine, Retread later After hired NASCAR Next-Gen Racers of 1: 55 Diecast, them never appeared in animated movies.
    • Although Hostile Takeover Bank racer Chick Hicks himself appeared in Cars 3, after he retired and became a commentator for RSN, he used his name and RSN replaced all the company's logos on his body.
    • Dale Earnhardt Inc. may have real-life copyright issues with the company or he may be the successor owner of the company, which may no longer be active in racing world after Dale Earnhardt Jr. retires.
    • Tach-O-Mint may have closed or no longer sponsoring racers after Greg Candyman or Guenther retired.
  • They are very similar to the Bad Piggies from the Angry Birds franchise; they a bunch of bad people gathered together, have green colours, laugh in a similar manner and antagonize the protagonist who is red. Foreman Pig (despite being a pig and not an anthropomorphic car) from the former also a face similar to Chick Hicks', such as the mustache.
  • There is a a non-crossover going on with Mattel's pitty diecast releases with Rusteze and HTB, where Rusteze only has the short-styled pitty being only Not Chuck himself released and not the tall and wide ones. whereas it's the over way around for HTB where the short pitty seen in the film alongside Race-O-Rama has been excluded from a diecast release and only had the tall and wide ones released. It's unknown why this was done.
