- The 2006 Le Motor Prototype J8 is a Pixar in-house design. According to a Q&A with Jay Shuster, Shu's design was inspired by LMPs with "the most aggressive shapes"[1], some of which include the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP, Epsilon Euskadi EE1, and a bit of Lola (e.g. Drayson Racing's 2009 car). Shu's spoiler may have been inspired by the Toyota TS010 Group C car.
- The 2009 Le Motor Prototype B12 is a Pixar in-house design. In a Q&A with Jay Shuster, he explained that while Carla's design was a blend of many LMPs (and later stylized to be "as voluptuous/curvaceous as possible"), the Audi R10 TDI and Audi R15 TDI served as starting points for her design.[1][2]
