Lightning's Gear are items the player takes in the Cars: The Videogame minigame High Speed Heist, and must retrieve in the minigame Lightning Strikes Back.
At the behest of Chick Hicks, the Delinquent Road Hazards stole Lightning McQueen's gear to prevent him from attending the next Piston Cup race at the Smasherville International Speedway. After hearing of the theft, McQueen stole back his gear from the Road Hazards. When imprisoned at the Radiator Springs Municipal Impound, the Hazards confessed that Chick had hired them but Chick feigned ignorance when McQueen confronted him about this.
