MPH 55 News

MPH 55 News is a television news program featuring Dan Sclarkenberg and Kim Carllins. In Cars, a clip of the program is shown as part of the collection of news videos covering the loss of Lightning McQueen. Dan and Kim talk about the incident while an image of Mack at the Los Angeles International Speedway can be seen in the background.

Trivia[]

The station seems to parody real life news stations, such as local news stations, such as WTAE and WXYZ and public ones, such as CNN, NBC, and PBS due to its' letter mark. The letter mark is also a reference to "miles per hour" and 55 being a speed limit. The "braking news" part is also a pun on both the phrase "breaking news", and also a car's brakes. All of this combined makes the whole news station one big pun.
