Mater in Paris is a book.
Plot Synopsis[]
Mater is on a spy-mission in Paris. Sometime after the events of Cars 2, Holley calls Mater over Lizzie's old-fashioned radio, asking him to join them on a mission in Paris because he is an expert on the Lemon cars they are tracking. Almost immediately, Siddeley arrives to transport him, and Mater invites Lightning McQueen along, proving he's still unclear on the secret agent concept when he happily yells out that they're a "super-secret spy team."
Once in Paris, Mater correctly assumes the Lemons are in search of spare parts, and a visit with Tomber confirms he's had two crates of them stolen. In their search for the parts, Lightning and Mater see some Parisian landmarks, first visiting the Louvre, where Mater is able to identify some tire tracks as those of Hugos, and then a street cafe where they spot the Hugos wearing false grilles and rooftop carriers. They trail them to the Moteur Rouge nightclub, and during the pursuit, McQueen and Mater are forced to don feather headdresses and join the car-car dancers onstage. Finally, the Hugos pass out from exhaustion at the top of the Eiffel Tower and Finn and Holley confirm they're sporting the new exhaust pipes and tubing stolen from Tomber. With all the stolen parts recovered, the four friends turn the criminals over to the police and go out for a round of the finest fuels in the world.
