Paris Race

Paris Race was a deleted scene in Cars 2. There would've been a race which would been held in Paris. During the race, Mater sees the weapon, which the bad guys are using to sabotage the racers. As Mater arrives to the place, it just turns out to be a schoolteacher who had a red plastic ball. The cops surround Mater, about to put him in jail. It was cut due to it being too confusing.

Trivia

• The race would've lasted for 24 hours. Replicating the 24 Hours of Le Mans and other endurance races.
  • Interestingly enough, the 24 Hours of Le Mans was even mentioned in the book, Mater in Paris.
• The Paris race made it in the DS and 3DS versions of Cars 2: The Video Game.
  • However, it is a street race with a dirt section, just like the circuits were in the film.
• In the scene racers are shown getting refueled showing off different fuels. This idea was reused in the London race.
  • This is referenced by Marlena when she tells McQueen that he's blocking her solar panels.
• The idea of the endurance race was re-used in the 2020 die-cast line with the Endurance Racers line.
