The Red-Propped Balsa and Baby Thrush are small balsa wood airplane-like birds seen in Planes: Fire & Rescue.
They are seen when Dusty Crophopper arrives at Piston Peak National Park, where the mother comes to her nest to greet her two baby thrushes. Ol' Jammer states later at the Grand Fusel Lodge that the population of red-propped balsa thrush has increased steadily.
The thrushes are small planes made of balsa wood, being painted red and orange. As the name suggests, their props are red. They represent actual thrushes, with the term "red-propped" being a play with words on "red-billed".

- "While the thrush species can be spotted in a variety of woods, the red-propped balsa thrush is among the rarest variety because of its fragile nature. Found mainly in the forests of the Piston Peak National Park, the balsa thrush tries to conserve its energy by gliding on the valley updrafts. A thrush will only engage its propeller when absolutely necessary, as they are highly suscepticle to rubber band snap."
