- "Aching for a Medicated Bumper Ointment with a rear end formula? RUST-EZE, PLEASE!"
- —Slogan, Rust-eze Medicated Bumper Ointment
Rust-eze Medicated Bumper Ointment (Rust-eze for short) was an American company bought out by Dinoco in 2017. It sold medicated bumper ointment, with a rear end formula (which its logo reads), for cars with rusty bumpers, to eradicate rust. It was created in 1990 by Rusty and Dusty Rust-eze and since then became recognized trademarks in the United States. In Cars 3, it was sold to Sterling and bought from him by Dinoco later that year. Until then the company competed with Dinoco. During races with HTB racers in it, it would compete with that company.
History[]
The company officially started in 1990[citation needed] by Rusty and Dusty Rust-eze who were working on its flag product, medicated bumper ointment, in their mother's garage in Boston, Massachusetts. Rusty and Dusty's mother said "I couldn't be more proud of my two boys accomplishments, but I hope that their next big move would be finally to move out of my garage." The Rust-eze brothers like to help rusty cars, almost as they like telling jokes, and that's why they invented Rust-eze medicated bumper ointment, be in the distinguished browning around the wheel well or the bumper that's completely falling off, Rusty and Dusty are there with a can of Rust-eze to fix it, or at least ease the burning, itching and soreness that plagues so many cars. The brothers expanding their business as a sponsorship to Piston Cup series, sometime in the 1990s, and they first car were sponsored, was a racer with the number 67, who also became their spokescar. In more than 10 years Rust-eze became a recognized trademark in the United States. Rust-eze also hired multiple delivery trucks, including the 1980s era Mack Super Liner truck named Mack.
Lightning McQueen meets the team in The Rookie
Prior to Cars, the company announced a casting to new face of marketing captains, and joined the Piston Cup Racing Series, sponsoring a racer with the number 67, and later a racer numbered 01 (although it is possible that Racer 67 and Racer 01 are the same car; such has never been confirmed). Around 2005, Racer 01 retired after suffering a big crash.
At the same time, young racer Lightning McQueen had been dropped from his team at the request of sponsor Smell Swell. Mack, whom McQueen met after his firing, brought him to Rust-eze and introduced him to Rusty and Dusty, who hired McQueen as their driver. McQueen quickly started performing well, and racing achievements gave the brand huge publicity, and a fan base focused on the racer and sponsor, throughout the season. Rusty and Dusty would organize fan meetings with McQueen during they would tell jokes to the spectators while awaiting Lightning's speech. However, McQueen disdained Rust-eze as his sponsor, as well as his fanbase of 'rusty old cars', believing that he was worthy of Dinoco's sponsorship as their long-time driver, Strip Weathers, was retiring at the end of the season. However, through the influence he learned at Radiator Springs, the rookie sensation gave up his chance to win the Piston Cup by helping The King finish his final race, being praised by the fans as the true winner in the process. McQueen was then offered a chance by Tex Dinoco to race for Dinoco, though he chose to stay with Rust-Eze instead. Between a 10-year period the race car won 7 Piston Cups. In 2016, after the crash of McQueen during race, the company was sold to a businessman named Sterling. The new owner built the Rust-eze Racing Center where Next-Generation racers began training to become the new Rust-eze representative in the Piston Cup Racing Series after McQueen's retirement, who decided to take part in the 2017 Florida 500 before ending his racing career. During the race, he taps out and switches with Cruz Ramirez, who wins the race. After that, McQueen temporarily retires, and the company was sold to Dinoco making Rust-eze a subsidiary of Dinoco.
Products[]
The flagship product of the company was the medicated bumper ointment, with a rear end formula. The product guaranteed a shiny result instantly. However, the actual results may have taken up to 36 weeks.
Sport[]
Rust-eze was one of the many official Piston Cup teams. It started racing for the Piston Cup in 2005 and was removed from the Piston Cup in 2017 due to the Dinoco acquisition. During that time, the company had Lightning McQueen racing for them until 2017. Cruz Ramirez, raced in the 2017 Florida 500 as their substitute racer.
The team had many different workers. In 2005, Lightning fired 3 crew chiefs, one of whom was named Chuck, and after that Doc Hudson started working as his crew chief. The original team of pitties quit the team at the end of the 2005 season and were replaced by Radiator Springs residents for the tie-breaker race at the Los Angeles International Speedway and future races afterwards. During the team's entire history Mack was working as the transporter.

Trivia[]
- The name is actually a loose pun of "Rusty's".
- In Cars, the scene when shops of Radiator Springs were closing, it can be seen on the Rusty Bumper window. Although according Meet the Cars the company actually started in 1990 even when movie events of that scene are happening before that year.
- In Planes: Fire & Rescue, Mayday mentions Dottie gave him some Rust-eze briefly.
- For some reason, in the beginning of Cars 3, the logo on McQueen has a different, more modern style (even more in his Rust-Eze Racing Center suit), but it is reverted back to the old style for the Florida 500.
- In Cars 3, Mater mentions a "Rust-eze Medicated Bumper Bomb".
- While McQueen had three crew chiefs fired, it's unknown why the previous two before Chuck left, though it's possible that they were tired of Mcqueen's attitude just like the rest of the former rust-eze team.
- It's unknown who actually took the place of Mcqueen's original crew chief after he left, the unidentified second crew chief never appeared in any form of media.
- It is unknown who currenly owns Rust-eze due after the passing of Tex Dinoco.
- It is possible that Rust-Eze was sold back to Sterling though Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez likely still race for Dinoco but under a different owner.
- According to the third chapter of The Rookie by Boom Studios comics, two more of the pitties are named ''Larry'' and ''Harry''.[3][better source needed]
- In addition, each forklift of the team in said work are depicted with the short models like Not Chuck's, the same thing (occasionally) goes with the rest of the visible teams.
- Even though Not Chuck and the rest of the team left, three unidentified pitties similar-looking to the original team appear in a magazine (see above) taking place after Cars. It might be that lightning mcqueen decided to apologize to them and return to the old team while the current one was occupied.
