In my opinion he is a son of Mr King because (in the Polish language version) is arriving to wish Mr Król good luck and the one is telling him "thanks, son". Additionally to the film's ending along with Mr King and his wife they are in the museum. - I think that The King only said "son" like what other people would say when the person they're talking to is not their son, RobertRS.
