• The 1983 Volgar Hugo NG-1 is based on the real-life Yugo GL (Zastava Koral).
• "Volgar" sounds a bit like "vulgar" when it is pronounced. This is a reference to how the cars manufactured by this company are villains. Also, "Volgar", sounds like "Volga" (Волга), a brand of cars produced in the USSR, on the GAZ.
• The 1983 Volgar Hugo NG-1 is very similar to the Park Motors XS, of which Hit & Run are.
  • Furthermore, in behind the scenes footage of Cars 3, it revealed that Hit and Run reused duplicate models of Victor Hugo during the early animation stages of the Thunder Hollow Speedway sequence.[1]
